Shared Education Project
Fair Hill PS and St Colman's PS
This year we are concentrating on developing the outdoor classroom in Fair Hill and sharing ideas with our parter school. We are part of a hub group completing training throughout the year to develop our skills in bringing the curriculum outside.
We are installing new log bench seating so our classes can be seated outside when completing an outdoors activity. We have taken part in Amma Centre Outdoor Classroom training in KS2 and are implementing the ideas throughout the school.
We have a re-vamped courtyard with lots of planting taking place
We have new markings in our foundation playground with a race-track and hop scotch area.
Primary seven used resources in the school grounds to create some art pieces.
Primary 3 and 4 have been working really hard to transform our courtyard area into a new outdoor learning space. Watch this space to see what our harvest will bring.
Our outdoor task this week was to design a skeleton from all the natural materials we could find.We are studying the Body as part of our learning in World Around Us. We had a competition in Primary 6/7 and Primary 7 as to who could make the best skeleton.
In the picture below Foundation Stage are learning to work as a team outdoors with lots of investigations
