Too Many Carrots for Nursery!
What a busy day we had today in Nursery! We decided it was time to pull up the carrots we've been growing in our garden — and what a surprise we had! As we tugged them from the soil, we discovered that our carrots were far from ordinary. Some were twisted, some were stuck together, and others were tiny or enormous! A few even looked like they had fingers, and some were so unusual they reminded us of monsters!
This sparked lots of excitement and wonderful conversations. The children used fantastic descriptive language to talk about what they saw — it was a brilliant way to explore shape, size, and imagination through nature.
Before dinner, we read the story Too Many Carrots, which inspired even more great ideas! Just like the rabbit in the story, we realised we also had too many carrots! So, following the rabbit’s lead, we decided to share them out — everyone got to take some home to enjoy.
Maybe you might even have them for dinner !! ?
With the carrots we have left, we’re excited to add them to our outdoor kitchen tomorrow.
