Starbucks takeover!
P6/7 enjoyed a great Starbucks day! The day started with the children having to figure out Starbucks related word problems to crack the code of the missing word. The letters were dotted around the room on Starbucks cups and bags etc. Our literacy focused on figurative language. The children have been creating café menus using as much figurative language as they can, such as similes, metaphors, personification, hyperbole and alliteration. They had to include starters, mains, desserts, drinks and some house specials. Today the children got to go round and write on a paper plate their favourite piece of figurative language from each menu and identify what piece of figurative language it was.
The day then finished with some café treats!
A big thank you to Great Victoria Street and Boucher Road Starbucks that donated many cups, napkins, straws, bags and much more, and also to Banbridge Starbucks who donated 30 cookie straws to the class and their old menu boards. It really brought the place to life.
