OUR BATTERY COLLECTION DAY

14th Oct 2025
This morning 220kg of used batteries were collected by the man with the van from Manchester. We did think this was an amazing amount and we have been told this is the largest single collection of batteries that he has ever picked up in the whole of the UK so we were absolutely delighted. Thank you to all of our families, friends and community for helping us. Our battery collection has re-started and P3, P6/7 and P7 are currently the classes who have brought in the most batteries this term so far.

We asked this morning would they take 9v, ie larger batteries that we know are used on many of our farms for fencing units etc. We were told 'no problem' so these can also be brought into school. As storage is an issue we have been reaasured that our driver is back in NI every 6 weeks and we can schedule additional pick ups if needed. With this in mind we may have another pick up at the end of each term. Thanks again for your ongoing support and encouragement, Mrs Poots and the ECO team.
