Learning Through Snow Play

12th Jan 2026

Our recent cold weather has provided just the perfect opportunity to start off our new Winter topic. We have had lots of fun exploring outside in the ice and snow.

The children were thrilled to see snow in our playground, and it sparked so much curiosity and creativity.

 Here’s what we have explored:

  • Experiencing the snow and noticing how it changed our Outdoor Playground.
  • Talking about melting, freezing, ice, and snowflakes.
  • Creating a beautiful class snowflake display and learning how each snowflake is unique.
  • Building a Snowman together and then turning him into a rainbow snowman with paint!
  • We observed how our snowman changed each day, counted how many days he lasted, and discovered what happens when snow melts.
What a wonderful week of curiosity and creativity we have had.
