From Wiggly Caterpillars to Wonderful Butterflies
This morning was a very special moment in Nursery as we released our Painted Lady butterflies into the garden. The children have loved watching them grow from tiny caterpillars, change into cocoons, and hatch into beautiful butterflies.
They have been exploring the life cycle, noticing the changes and talking about what was happening at each stage.
The children also created their own butterflies by painting one side and folding it over to print the design, helping them to see how both sides match and introducing the idea of symmetry. They chose colours to match our Painted Lady butterflies, creating beautiful patterns.
It has been wonderful to see the children so curious and excited as they learned about growth, change, and the natural world.
