Welcome back P6/7!
It is lovely to have everyone back to school and eager to begin another year, although routines are a little different I have no doubt that P6/7 will adapt quickly.
Our morning routine begins at 9.15. Pupils who arrive by bus will have their temperature checks at the main door and proceed to the assembly hall, those children who arrive by car or walk will line up along the line at the side entrance and get temperature checked from 9.10 onwards and make their way to the classroom.
Don't forget to bring dinner money in an envelope clearly marked at the beginning of the week please.
Homeworks will be sent home along with answers to be marked as we have been advised that paper contact between home and school should be kept to a minimum. Children will complete one written literacy homework on a Monday night and a numeracy on Wednesday night. Spelling investigation activities will also be set on a Monday to be completed during the week. Facts will be sent home to be learned. A Friday spelling test and numeracy test will be completed in class on a Friday and sent home to be stuck into the back of their weekly spelling book. Your child's spelling book will remain at home with sheets and lists sent in schoolbags to be stuck into books. All homework tasks should be signed by an adult please.
Please bring trainers in a school bag each day as we will try to complete the mile and PE sessions when the weather permits.
If possible could you please provide a dictionary for your child to use in class, as we cannot share books at this moment in time, thankyou.
AQE pupils will soon be sitting their first paper in class. they will sit papers on a Monday and Wednesday. Mr Brown will run AQE classes on a Tuesday and Thursday within school hours between 2 - 2.50pm to go over the papers. I appreciate these are difficult times, but I can assure you that I will support your child as much as possible and if you have any concerns or queries please phone the school or e-mail me at the above address.
I am looking forward to another year with the children and our classroom assistant Kate Peel. Please support us as we care for all pupils and place their happiness and safety as a priority.
